LISAY

BIO

LISAY, THE COUNTRY GIRL, hails from VA by way of NJ. "Lisay, with that beautiful, melodic voice, has always loved to sing, even as a small child. She became passionate about singing when she moved in with her aunt and uncle who encouraged the teen to sing as a form of self-expression. At a Charm Pageant, she sang Natalie Cole’s “Our Love” — one of her idols — and a local manager took notice of the budding starlet. The manager asked Lisay to join his band comprised of high school students, which needed a female singer. Since that fateful day, Lisay has enjoyed entertaining people with her gift. Blessed with a five-octave vocal range, Lisay is a prolific songwriter and producer with more than 700 songs written who has won numerous poetry and songwriting awards from Billboard, the Songwriters’ Association of Washington, D.C. and the National Poetry Society. She also owns her own record label. In 2019 LiSaY was a first time Grammy considered artist on the all Female Kemet Riddim Album which this album also won a Global Music Award. How cool is that for this Country Girl? She mesmerizes you with her live show, and her dulcet, yet powerful tones are full of verve. LiSaY has opened up for an impressive list of artists including the incomparable, Rachelle Ferrell, El DeBarge, Jill Scott, Glady's Knight, Miki Howard, Ledisi, Christopher Williams, Meli'sa Morgan, CeCe Peniston, Carl Thomas, Total, Blue Magic, The OJay's, Hip Hop Icons Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Dj Kid Capri, The Late Biz Markie, Peter Gunz & many more. She is on the move and surely one to watch out for! Lisay will be releasing her new single soon with an album to follow! Because of her gift in songwriting, she has been afforded opportunities to write songs for several indie movies, jingles, and plays and she also was an executive music producer for one of the movies. She is versatile and can pretty much write in any genre of music.  She's really looking forward to her first track she composes and produces getting recorded by an artist. That would be a dream come true and also rare as there are really not too many female producers. Oh, and she was recently handpicked for her first acting role by the Tony award-winning playwright Nolbert Brown in "Soul Train" the play and the Mahalia Jackson Story playing Mahalia's mom when about to give birth to Mahalia. LiSaY also produces & promotes concerts.  She's produced 2 SOLD OUT MOTOWN SHOWS in 2017 & 2019 creating opportunities for lots of working and non working musicians. Trust me when I say, this is one to keep your eyes on. Coupled with faith in God, the no-quit attitude, (THEY CALL HER THE GRIND QUEEN) this lady is going to go very far.  In her spare time, you can find her volunteering to feed the homeless, using her gifts in nursing homes, helping the elderly and doing her part to uplift, inspire and empower the children & much more.
